Published in conjunction with the Carte grise à Pierre Dorion, this book includes an interview with Pierre Dorion by Penny Cousineau-Levine, as well as several colour reproductions of the art works. In Ailleurs, Pierre Dorion, as guest curator, is particularly interested in the representation of urban architecture and landscapes. The choice of works creates possibilities for comparisons between the photographic origins of the represented sites and the painted rendition of the images. The sometimes tortuous relations between painting and photography are examined through the different interpretations of the urban world offered by the artists.
